Of course, a macro lens is not restricted to just close up photography; it can be used for general shots in exactly the same way as any other lens.

I enjoy using my macro lens as it provides a definite change of approach from my landscape photography. I would like to develop further my capture of insects and especially butterflies but that will come with more practice.
